Following the Chiefs’ late touchdown against the Bills being nullified by an offensive offsides penalty, Patrick Mahomes lost his cool with the referee on Sunday night.

With 1:10 left in the game, Mahomes hit Travis Kelce over the middle of the field. The tight end then lateralled the ball to Kadarius Toney, who raced into the end zone to give the home team the lead.

Toney, however, had already set up in the neutral zone prior to the play, drawing a penalty and therefore nullifying the score, which, assuming an additional point, would have given Kansas City a 23–20 lead.

Moments later, Mahomes’ desperate try to salvage the Chiefs’ drive failed, and the quarterback was furious on the sideline.

“We played ou,” he seemed to yell at a referee as he slapped down his helmet.

After the game, the quarterback greeted Josh Allen of the Bills and began to whine about the call.

“The most bizarre f****** call I’ve ever seen” F****** awful,’ he exclaimed.

‘It’s hard to swallow,’ Mahomes remarked following the game. You want to see the players on the field determine the game, not just from me or football in general, to take away talent like that and for a guy like Travis to make a play like that.
