Kevin O’Connell Unexpectedly Admits Something About J.J. McCarthy

There is a new starting quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings.

All along, J.J. McCarthy was the man they desired, and obtaining him didn’t require much effort.

Reviews of him from his time in college have been conflicting.

And although some believed he was a dark horse to finish this class as the top quarterback or among the best, others said he was still very inexperienced.

It doesn’t seem to be the case.

McCarthy has reportedly received some repetitions and has worked with the first team offense, according to HC Kevin O’Connell, who recently spoke with Rich Eisen (via The Purple Persuasion).

McCarthy’s ability to swiftly adjust to a new offense and teammates was praised by O’Connell.

Regarding McCarthy’s chances of playing in his rookie campaign, there have been conflicting claims.

He was uneven, like most rookies are, according to early assessments, and even though he showed encouraging signs, he still needed to put in a lot of effort.

Some even suggested that he might begin the season as the third quarterback, behind Nick Mullens and Sam Darnold.

In addition to having the ideal supporting cast for a novice signal-caller and an extremely QB-friendly scheme, Darnold is also only now becoming acquainted with the system.

All things considered, it would be quite remarkable if the Vikings choose not to use their first-round pick, even for a few games, at any time during the season.
